👥
Committee Members — General Board
Every GMS member belongs to a committee — this is what it means to be on the general board. Your primary responsibility is to your own committee's work and goals. Beyond that, you're welcome to enjoy events put on by other committees, attend as a member, and engage with everything GMS has to offer. This organization is what you make of it — the more you put in, the more you take away.
⭐
Executive Board — Leads & Directors
The executive board consists exclusively of Directors and Leads, as defined on the roster. If your name has an asterisk (*) next to it on the roster, you are a Lead — you are on the executive board, not the general board. Leads and Directors carry broader organizational responsibilities across GMS.
Not sure where you fall? Check the official roster above. No asterisk = committee member on the general board. Asterisk (*) next to your name = Lead, executive board.

🎯 GMS Dare Board — Spring Break Edition
Sign Up by Mar 9
Every spring break we come back with stories. This year, we're making them official.

We're launching GMS's first-ever Dare Board — a collection of member-submitted dare videos. You volunteer your time, do a silly dare during spring break, film it, and submit. Think harmless, hilarious, certified chaos. We need at least 10 volunteers to make this happen.
Shower fully clothed 🚿 Slap yourself with a tortilla 🫓 Convince a stranger you're famous 🎤 Speak only in questions for an hour ❓ Wear a cape to class 🦸 And more to be announced!

Rule: Nothing self-harming, nothing dangerous, nothing that could get you in trouble. Just pure, good-natured silliness that builds community and makes everyone smile.

April 24–26 · Tentative · Flagship Event
Neurovation 🚀
Mandatory · All Members
Neurovation is GMS's annual health innovation competition — a multi-day event where teams pitch, build, and present solutions at the intersection of neuroscience, health tech, and social good. Think of it as a startup pitch competition meets science expo, judged by real industry professionals, faculty, and mentors from our partner ecosystem.
Two independent competition tracks run simultaneously, each open beyond just Venture Lab members:
🎓 Undergraduate Track
Open to all Rutgers undergrads. Teams form, develop a health or biotech innovation, and pitch to a panel of judges from industry, academia, and VC. Projects can be research-based, product-based, or social impact-driven. Winners receive recognition + potential funding access.
🏫 High School Track
GMS-invited high school students compete in their own division — presenting innovations in health and science to mentors and judges. Designed to expose the next generation to research, entrepreneurship, and the healthcare space early.
As a GMS member — each committee is responsible for running the event component they're assigned. But you're free to also participate in or attend any track or competition that your committee isn't responsible for running. Neurovation is a full org event; you don't need to be in Venture Lab to compete or attend.
Mandatory for all GMS members · April flagship programming · Dates tentative
